Easy stick-on installation
Our premium stick-on tiles and motifs are perfect for renters in need of an easy removal process, or budget-conscious renovators seeking to elevate their space without a permanent commitment.
Base stick-on tile installation is simple, straightforward, and you can do it yourself in just a few hours:
- Prepare the surface: gently wipe the area with a damp cloth, and allow it to dry completely
- Peel and stick: remove the backing, position your tile, cut to size, and smooth it down
- Enjoy the view: take a step back and revel in your newly reimagined home
Applying our motif stickers to your tiles opens up a new world of personalisation for your splashback, and only requires a few additional steps:
- Position your motifs
- Decide exactly where you would like your motif to go before applying it (motif stickers cannot be repositioned once adhered).
- Begin application
- Carefully peel back 2–3cm of the backing film to expose a small section of adhesive, taking care not to let the exposed adhesive touch the peel and stick tile until you are happy with the placement.
- Once positioned correctly, place the motif onto the peel and stick tile and gently press down the exposed section to secure.
- Apply your motif
- Using a squeegee, card, or similar flat edge, slowly work across the decal while gradually pulling away the backing film.
- Continue smoothing the motif onto the tile as you go, applying firm, even pressure to ensure full adhesion, and to avoid bubbles or wrinkles.
- Once the entire motif has been transferred, smooth over the surface again, paying particular attention to any fine details or edges.
- Remove the transfer film
- Slowly peel away the clear top film at a low angle, keeping it as close to the tile surface as possible. As you peel, check that the motif remains adhered to the tile. If any part of the motif begins to lift, stop immediately.
- Press the lifted area back down firmly, smooth over it again with your squeegee or card, then continue peeling the transfer film away.
- For best results, take your time during this step. Rushing can cause delicate details to stretch, tear, or lift.
- Tip: Allow the decal to cure for 24 hours before cleaning or exposing it to heavy moisture. This helps ensure maximum adhesion and durability.
- Proceed to installation
- Once satisfied with the placement and application of your motif sticks, you can proceed to installing your peel and stick tiles as per packaging instructions.
You won’t need to fill old grout lines or remove any existing tiles to install your stick-on tiles, but you will require a few basic household tools:
- Cutting surface
- Craft knife or scissors
- Damp cleaning cloth
- Ruler
- Pen/pencil

Frequently Asked Questions
Are stick-on tiles waterproof?
Most stick-on tiles are designed to be water resistant (rarely waterproof), making them suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas of the home prone to splashing.
How do I clean stick-on tiles?
Like any tiles, stick-on tiles require regular care. A simple wipe down will do, ensuring you only use soft microfibre cloths, dampened with a small amount of dishwashing liquid. You should never use harsh chemicals and abrasive tools on your tiles, as you may scratch or dull the surface.
Can stick-on tiles go over existing tiles?
You can achieve a quick transformation with stick-on tiles and their ability to go straight over your existing tiles and grout lines. However, for lasting results, you must ensure to take every precaution when preparing any existing surface – it must be clean and dry for successful adhesion.
Where can I use stick-on tiles?
Stick-on tiles are suitable for use almost everywhere traditional tiles can be installed. They are heat proof and water resistant by design, making them ideal for DIY kitchens, bathrooms, and backsplashes.
For a premium, lasting finish, it’s recommended that you do not install stick-on tiles in showers without additional waterproofing.
Are stick-on tiles heat resistant?
Our stick-on tiles are designed to be both heat proof and water resistant, and safe for kitchen or bathroom use. To maintain the look of your tiles and minimise the risk of warping, it’s recommended that you leave a gap of 30cm between your tiles and stovetop, or to install a metal backguard for extra protection. Additionally, you should avoid installing your stick-on tiles next to open flames.
How long do stick-on tiles last?
Stick-on tiles generally last between 3–10 years. Their longevity depends on a number of factors, such as their location, quality, usage, maintenance, and initial installation. Generally, stick-on tiles can last:
- 5–10 years in kitchens, bathrooms, and low-traffic areas
- 3–5 years in hallways, entryways, and other high-traffic areas
- 1–3 years in showers and areas prone to water pooling
What tools do you need to install stick-on tiles?
Stick-on tiles are easy to install, and only require a handful of basic household tools. For the majority of DIY installation projects, all you will need is a cutting surface, craft knife or scissors, damp cloth, ruler, squeegee, and a pencil.
