When we renovated our own home, we searched everywhere for tiles that felt personal, beautiful, and different. What we found instead were complicated ranges with hidden costs, long lead times, and little transparency.

That’s why we started Akka Home.

We’re a small family business creating hand-painted ceramic tiles — made in Australia. We blend old-world techniques with a modern, playful spirit to make tiles that are both artful and practical.

Inspired by tradition, made for now

Delft tiles date back from the early to mid 17th century. Subverting history with whimsy and playfulness, our tiles lie in the liminal space between art and utility. Our tiles are designed to be at once nostalgic and intimate, and are each hand-painted in our studio.

The result is a tile that feels at once nostalgic and deeply personal — perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, and homes that want more than just something off the shelf.
