Whether it’s a heritage design from your family home, a favourite fabric print, or a cherished sketch, we can transform your inspiration into a hand-painted tile. Each custom pattern is drawn and painted by hand onto our signature ceramic base, creating a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

The first custom pattern tile is $145, with subsequent tiles featuring the same design priced at $75 each.

Mix a mild detergent or vinegar with water and wipe clean with a cloth or sponge to keep your tiles looking clean and beautiful.

Every single tile is hand drawn and hand painted in our studio in Newport, Sydney. Given the artisanal nature of each piece, there will inevitably be variations in each piece. We believe this is what makes each tile a piece of art, and not an identical, mass produced object.

Where can I use Pattern tiles? Are they okay for wet areas and floors? 

Our Pattern Tiles are ceramic, making them highly durable; they are water, heat, scratch and stain resistant. These means that they are versatile and can be used in various applications, including backsplashes, wall accents, and decorative elements. They can also be used in wet areas like bathrooms and laundries, though it is crucial that they are properly installed and grouted to protect against moisture. For floor use, it's best to consult with our team for recommendations on specific products suited for floor applications.

Do the patterns align when installed?

Yes — our Pattern Tiles are designed to align seamlessly when installed in a grid layout. Because each tile is hand-painted, there may be slight organic variations that add to their charm, but the overall pattern will repeat in a harmonious, consistent rhythm across your surface.

Can Pattern Tiles be mixed with Delft motif tiles or blanks?

Yes — our Pattern Tiles are designed to pair beautifully with motif tiles and blanks. Whether you want a subtle rhythm, a bold checkerboard effect, or a layered story wall, you can mix and match to suit your space.

What colour grout should I use?

We think a white grout looks best to complement the colour of the tile. But a darker grout will emphasise the shape of each tile and give a contrasting effect.

What colours are available?

Our Hand Painted Pattern Tiles come in 1 colour: Bayswater blue, a brighter reinterpretation of 17th century delft blue.
