This coastal home in Newport, Australia underwent a stunning bathroom renovation — transforming a dated space into a serene, spa-inspired retreat. With a focus on natural textures, calming tones, and thoughtful craftsmanship, the new bathroom blends beachside ease with timeless luxury.
At the centre of the design is a feature bath splashback wall of hand-painted Delft tiles, created in our Sydney studio. Each tile showcases an ocean-themed motif — from coral branches and seahorses to delicate seaweed and fish — all rendered in Akka’s signature blue and white palette. These Australian-made ceramic tiles bring both personality and a sense of place, gently nodding to the home’s beachside location.
Paired with tumbled marble herringbone floor tiles and a custom-built steam shower lined with honed marble slabs, the result is a layered, textural space that invites relaxation.
